Under 8 and Under 10 Soccer Season Starts

Great fun at Saint Procopius field today when the two Spring Season Saint Helen soccer teams competed against other schools from the Chicago area.

The Under 8 Saint Helen Soccer Team, coached by Mr Chris Thomann,  played at 9 a.m., while the Under 10 team, coached by Mr Ferme and Mr Grove played at 11 a.m.

Soccer Practice Resumes

Practices for the Under 8 and Under 10 teams will resume on Monday, February 1.

This is so players get a headstart before the actual season starts (mid-March).

Practices will run from 4:15 until 5:30 p.m., in the gym.

Once the tournament starts, practices will be twice a week: Both days at the gym for the Under 8 team, and once a week at the gym and the other at Smith Park for the Under 10 team.

Announcements about future scheduling will be made to the players during practice and to Mr Caban.

The schedule for the under 8 and under 10 teams has been posted! Please note that all games will be played at St. Procopious at 1641 S Allport.

Also because St. Procopious has recently renovated their fields they have announced NO SPIKES OR CLEATS will be allowed on the fields. Thank you.

St. Helen offers after-school sports. For the sixth year now, the St. Helen Athletic Committee is opening registration for soccer teams, from grades 1 through 8.

We need coaches, so if you are interested please contact either Mr. Caban, the Physical Education teacher, or Mr. Ferme, the soccer program's coordinator.
