"We believe that it is a child's right to be educated in a nurturing and safe environment."

St. Helen Catholic School strives to educate the whole child.  In doing so, a spiritual, academic, and social foundation is created. This formation, rooted in Gospel values, enables the graduate to develop as a responsible Christian citizen.  We believe that it is a child's right to be educated in a nurturing and safe environment.  Daily activities encourage the sense of positive self-esteem as well as the development of self-discipline.  We unite for racial justice and celebrate cultural diversity.  We promote active service to the school, parish, and community.

Dear St. Helen Community,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you as your new principal! My name is Dana Vance and I am honored to become part of the St. Helen community. Your school and neighborhood is rich with tradition and diversity and it is truly my pleasure to join you in leading your exceptional community of learners forward in the 2020-21 school year.
A little bit about me: I grew up in the Chicago area. I hold a BS in Elementary Education from DePaul University, an MA in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and am completing my second Master’s in Educational Leadership back at DePaul--I am now a Double DePaul Demon!

Let me say again how thrilled I am to become part of the St. Helen community. My highest priority is making sure every student at St. Helen becomes the person God intends them to be: that each child reaches their highest academic potential and flourishes both spiritually and emotionally. I look forward to partnering with you in educating our students. Please pray for me as I make this exciting transition and I look forward to the day when we will each be able to meet in person.
Please feel free to contact me (773-486-1055)  (dvance@sthelenchicago.org) to arrange an  appointment to discuss registration and enrollment for the 2020-21 academic year.  Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions.
Dana Vance
